CarryGo Dispatch Services ("CarryGo", "we", "our", or "us") operates the CarryGo mobile application, progressive web app, and the website at carrygo-courier.com. We are a same-day courier and dispatch platform based in Abuja, Nigeria.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our services. By using CarryGo, you agree to the practices described here.

We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Identity & Contact: Full name, email address, phone number, and profile photo (optional).
- Account Credentials: Hashed passwords and, for riders, government-issued ID documents for verification purposes.
- Location Data: Real-time GPS coordinates from riders while they are on an active delivery, and pickup/drop-off addresses entered by customers when placing an order.
- Payment Information: We do not store raw card or bank account numbers. Payments are processed by Paystack (a PCI-DSS compliant processor). We store your wallet balance, transaction history, and Paystack customer references.
- Usage Data: Order history, delivery status updates, ratings, and in-app activity logs.
- Device & Technical Data: Device type, operating system version, IP address, and push notification tokens (FCM) used to send delivery alerts.
- Communications: Support messages or emails you send us.

3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To match customers with verified riders and fulfil delivery orders.
- To display real-time rider location to the customer during an active delivery.
- To process payments and manage your wallet.
- To send push notifications and SMS alerts about your order status.
- To verify rider identity before they go online.
- To calculate and settle rider earnings after each completed delivery.
- To resolve disputes, process refunds, and provide customer support.
- To improve our platform, detect fraud, and ensure safety.
- To comply with Nigerian law and regulatory requirements.
Third-Party Services
4. Third-Party Services We Use
- Paystack — Payment processing and card tokenisation. Governed by Paystack's Privacy Policy.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — Push notifications sent to your device. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Termii — SMS OTP delivery for phone number verification. Your phone number is shared with Termii solely for OTP purposes.
- Resend — Transactional email delivery (order receipts, account alerts).
We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We only share data with the above processors to the extent necessary to deliver our services.
Location
5. Location Data
Rider GPS location is collected in the background only while a delivery is active and the rider has gone online. This data is used to:
- Show the customer a live map of their rider's position.
- Automatically confirm geofenced arrival at pickup and drop-off stops.
- Audit delivery completion where applicable.
Location data is not collected from riders when they are offline. Customers' location is only inferred from the addresses they enter manually; we do not access a customer's device GPS.
Retention
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as required by Nigerian law. Order records and financial transactions are retained for a minimum of 6 years in accordance with applicable tax and financial regulations. You may request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us at info@carrygo-courier.com. Certain data (e.g. financial records) may be retained beyond account deletion where required by law.

7. Your Rights Under the NDPR
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations).
- Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Bureau (NDPB).

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit, bcrypt hashing for passwords, JWT-based authentication, and restricted database access. However, no system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
Children
9. Children's Privacy
CarryGo is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Updates
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by email. Continued use of CarryGo after the effective date of a revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
